Getting to know Eastern Farm Stand

A friend of mine (who is currently in Isreal at the moment), informed me of her cousins that own The Eastern Farm Stand http://www.easternfarmne.com/ in Ipswich, MA.

According to their website:

“Eastern Farm’s mission is to utilize natural organic ingredients in nature that will support, and maintain the organic cycle, and eco-system for Mother Earth.

We specialize in producing organically grown vegetables & herbs from seed, the way nature intended.  All of the products we use are certified organic.”

Sounds really good right?  I mean it makes me want to visit them just to get fresh produce and organic at that!  If you haven’t been to Ipswich, MA it is a really beautiful location with lots of beaches near by, so you could stop at the farm stand, make a little picnic, and just head to the beach!

Wow, I want to go now!  Anyone with me? 

Public Places in Marblehead

If you are visiting Marblehead and want to explore the great outdoors, check out this listing of all the public places in town, including parks, playgrounds, beaches and trails. I never knew that there were so many parks in this lovely town, although I am familiar with several of the playgrounds.

The structures at Devereaux beach are fun to visit at the end of the day, when most of the beach crowd has gone home and the parking is free. This picture was taken in the late spring of 2007. If you get hungry, there is a clam shack located here where you can enjoy traditional New England beach food. Along with seafood rolls and hot dogs, favorites in my family, they also make a great Raspberry-Lime Rickey.

Another playground, Hobbs Playground, is perfect for the young kids. The structures not over-sized and there is a fence between them and the street.

I’ve heard good things about the Orne Playground, although I haven’t made it over there myself.

There are many great reasons to visit Marblehead: shops, restaurants and the sea-side, sail-friendly atmosphere… I’ve now found a whole list of spots at which I can kick back and relax with my family!

Warm Sand Beneath Our Feet

Spring has sprung. Do you know what that means? It is time to get out of hibernation and inhale some of that salty ocean breeze.

Today is Memorial day, so we did just that. With the weather finally warm enough here on the North Shore, we headed out for a day of digging in the sand and running on the beach. With the water too cold just now for splashing in the Ocean, we headed out to King’s Beach for some beach time fun.
